My V-Mate

My V-mate is a mixed reality virtual human experience for Meta Quest 3.

The character can stand in your real space, respond to voice, perform dances, sing user-added songs, sit and stand, change size, and perform local talk show routines. The app supports multilingual local commands, including Chinese, English, Japanese, and Spanish aliases for common actions.

Voice conversation is powered by Alibaba Cloud Bailian / DashScope Qwen models. For security, the release APK does not include an API key. After the first launch, the app creates a QwenConfig.json file in the Quest app files folder. Users add their own API key, regional endpoint, and model names there. The recommended mode is ASR-LLM-TTS, which separates speech recognition, dialogue, and text-to-speech for better stability and cost control.

Important setup note:

Run the app once after installation. It will create:

/sdcard/Android/data/com.iceking.myvmate/files/QwenConfig.json

Open that file and fill in your own Alibaba Cloud Bailian / DashScope API key and regional API URL. The app also creates QwenConfig_User_Guide.txt in the same folder with examples for Beijing, Singapore, and US regions.

User songs:

After the first launch, put MP3/WAV/OGG files into:

/sdcard/Android/data/com.iceking.myvmate/files/UserSongs

Then ask the character to sing by saying the song name.

This is my first time independently creating and publishing this kind of MR virtual companion app, so there may still be many areas that can be improved.
